I think this is a BMW V8 powered Mikafa (= Mindener Karosserie Fabrik) Wohnmobil (=campmobile).

They´ve built 12 of those luxurious dormobiles and this should be the only existing.

It was built for a certain Heinrich Köpp, General Manager of the Vasenolwerke/Oberndorf as far as I can trust my sources.

I presume you got yourself the newest issue of a well known magazine, don't you? Coincidentally I found it there today as well.

However you're right of course. Point awarded.

In last months issue of that magazine it was only anounced, in this month's there's a whole article about this magnificent Mikafa, in which they tell that most probably 20 of these have been built (between 1958 and 1962), seven still exist, but this is the only one in driving condition. When this one was sold (in 1960) it cost about DM 50.000 (all accessories included), which was almost the price of two Mercedes-Benz 300 'Adenauer'... The Mikafa had it's own model name: Landyacht  ;D

PS: Mikafa is said to stand for Mindener Karosserie und Fahrzeugbau GmbH (Construction of bodywork and vehicles in Minden Ltd).

PS2: It is now listed as Mifaka instead of Mikafa.
