Just scanning Otto's posts... ;)  Was it also remote controllable?

Paul Jaray

Otto posted a couple of puzzles lately.
They have a particularity, shared with this one.
I solved both of them an posted a criptic comment in one of those.
I posted a microcar, buit by a famous coachbuilder who shares the same feature.

Paul Jaray

Nobody is reading between the lines....

Allemano

is it driven by human power only?

Paul Jaray

Not only, but also.
Now, reading back my clues, the name of the car should be not too hard...

I don't think you mean someone has to push it to drive it....then the name should be quite easy reading back my clues...

Paul Jaray

I will rephrase that: how is this car supposed to go (togheter with a small engine) ?

guido66

Is it a pedal car, with an auxilary engine?

Paul Jaray

Y-E-S.
The name of the car reminds you that...

need to pedal?

Paul Jaray

Is it a serious guess?
There was another microcar, made by a famous coachbuilder, a former puzzle of mine, with a name like the one of this car.

Paul Jaray

You are the only one following my clues!
Yes, the Boneschi Pedalante was the car I was referring to from the beginning.
This one has also an engine, that's why is half pedal car and half car...the name reflects that.

I just found a whole site dedicated to the inventor of this car: he was a real genius and this car is not just a pedal car...it seems it has no pedals at all!
It features a special engine that allows the vehicle to run 100 KM with 2 litre. He also patented a lot of inventions...
My source was an old article of 'Auto Italiana' were is written that this car can run with an engine or with the pedals and the name is Pedalauto, but now I found out that is far more misterious than that!
It seems like we are back to the start!

Thanks for the clues, I found the website!

AUTOMOBILE AUTARCHICA - Nello stesso anno realizza un meccanismo di propulsione con relativo telaio per vetture, (Brevetto italiano n. 381020). by Marcello Creti

Paul Jaray

Yes!
I found really a lot of info about this man...I suspect there are more than one Marcello Creti, because it's not possible that a single man can be involved in soooo many things...
Well done, this one was really hard!
(BTW, was the 'Auto Italiana' clue the fatal one?)

pnegyesi

No, it was the fact that he invented and patented things. And there was another clue, related to the year so from then on it was easy

Paul Jaray

Easy you say?
well two easily earned points for you, then!
