Czechoslovak, by any chance?

woodinsight

Not Czechoslovakian but still within Europe

faksta

Ah..it's Etnerap from Portugal!

woodinsight

That's the car!
Can you give me a year to complete it?

faksta

1953, I think. Built by Antonio Augusto Parente (Parente -> Etnerap)

woodinsight

That's correct!
Well done.

That's correct!
Well done.

Reversing the name like that is popular in some spheres.  A house near mine is called 'Krowdrah' but one near where I used to live was called 'Llamedos'!
There's nowt so queer as folk, as is often said in Yorkshire!

What's this, by whom, from when, powered by what - for 1 point?:

I detect a Portugese theme .... it's the ETNERAP 1100 built by António Augusto Parente from Fiat 1100 parts in 1953 and raced in period often by Castillo Branco. It was apparently the first of 3 Etneraps.

Indeed; so much for what I thought was a hard puzzle...
At least it lasted more than 24 hours!  Here are some more pics of it:

I see that's Mr Parentes standing next to the car in overalls in the first of your four pictures, with Castello Branco behind the wheel.
