Your meaning of "typical" is so hard to decribe.. :-) Frua involved?

Allemano

I meant it was the brainchild of one particular Swiss man - and it isn't related to any common coachbuilder.

I don't know if this helps at all, but at least it brings it back to the spot light!

The following pic shows the predecessor of the mystery car.

This second one is Fiat 500 based?

Allemano

On both cars I have no information regarding engine or any other technical stuff, All I can contribute is the name and the country where it was built, I'm sorry!  :-\

Allemano

I recently figured out what the second car's engine was: NSU!

The countdown is running. I will reveal this puzzle in 6 months!

Congrats! You'll be the pioneer!

was just kidding... on the 22th of August this puzzle will be nine months old. It won't grow much older...

It's a self-built car from a Swiss hobbyist. His first car (second pic) has an NSU Prinz engine from 1962 and was built 1971-75. It's still owned by its builder in a very good condition. Coincidentally (!) I've found it  for sale today on a website for enthusiast of the engine's brand.

Unfortunatly I have no additional info of the second and more important car. As far as I know it was built at the beginning of the eighties. (~1983)

more on the 20th of August... ;)

Damned I'm too late!  :-\
I guess ultimo ratio I move it to the "black hole" before it gets burned..

Not so famous, or rather, completely unknown. This man only built two different cars.
And he was very creative in naming the cars: they were called "1" and "2"...
The name of the make is a pun of his own name.

I have turned my attention to books, in this case a book on Swiss coachbuilt and small-series cars. These are not featured  ???

Maybe it's because both cars were one-offs...?

Oh, well, sometimes it just takes a little time to solve old puzzles. The name what you are looking for is: Menix. Menix 1 and Menix 2

Beat Menzi, a car repairman in Obergrösgen, a Swiss village created these two cars in the early 1970s

And with those two points you entered the hall of fame of Autopuzzlers: the magic <<<<< Professional >>>>> ranking!  :drink: :cheer: :applause:

It took a bit less time than I thought! It's not even half-a-year ago that I started contributing to this great site.

Oh, well. From next week on 'til late March I won't have too much time to spend here. I was asked to hold lectures on automotive history at a university in Budapest. A new restoration course has been launched and I'll have over 30 students :) But let me tell you, it is an enormous task to be really prepared for these classes :)
