In the absence of rookies... a giveaway for the experts?

gilescooperuk

The obvious answer would be a VW Golf Mk1 but I guess that is too easy...

You're right about the car, but what's special about it?

TheItalianJunkyard

There isn't a radiator, and that seems a V6 engine.

guido66

No radiator indeed, but not a V6

gilescooperuk

Looks like a 3 cylinder engine - could still be water cooled as the pipes seem to be in place it is just missing the rad.

I'm guessing this is a test bed for the engine.

As far as I can tell no parts are missing. Just close the bonnet and she's ready to go!

No, not that either

3 cylinders suggests it might be a Wartburg engine.

The more you learn, the more you realise how little you know.

Or could it be a Wankel engine?

guido66

Not a Wartburg or a Wankel engine.

Joao Gois

Is it a "conventional" engine?

guido66

Not really, this car is in a museum, dedicated to the creator of this engine  ;)

Is this museum located in Europe?

guido66

Yes, it's in Europe

pnegyesi

Hmmmmm, I did not see it in CH, B, NL, S, most of CEE and Russia.  Did I miss something or is this in another country?

Joao Gois

Does that engine work on petrol / diesel at all?
