It's Super Mustang drag car, an exhibition racer which Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen drove in '67.
It had SOHC Cammer 427 engine and it ran 8.29 at the Pomona Winternationals in 1967

The car was sold in 1968 to Mickey Thompson, were it stayed in his huge collection until his death in 1988. The car was fully restored by its previous owner in 2003 and just sold at auction last year...

A nicely detailed and correct response.
