Straight to the professionals: I only know the name of the guy who built this. So it's one point. Another if you can provide further background.

pnegyesi

Not one guess? This was built in USA, early 1950s

pnegyesi

Not one guess in almost 3 months?

It seems I did it... :lmao:

:shiner: - background, got you 8)

But we still need the name of the guy. And yes, it was built around 1953.

"American boulevard sportscars" - I have grabbed now my article so PJ was right, this car was featured in Motor Life, July, 1956 issue. "Owner-builder operates a body shop"...

Carnut

Is it based on a Kurtis body?

This is a beautiful one-off custom sports car built by Jimmy Wells in the mid 1950's (or 1953 as you said before).
It was featured on the front cover of Motor Life magazine July 1956 as I've just noticed PJ mentioned before (see below for a slightly bigger picture).
Information about it is a bit scant but trying best to find out more!

It might be Corvette based but not sure anyone knows any more.
Wonder if it still exists...

And a much deserved point for you!
