Looks like a MB cabriolet to my eye, but I don't remember model numbers, dates of production and the name of the guy who installed the cam shaft bearings like some of the trivialists around here!    :hah:

Rich

Gotta be a Vdub of some sort....how's that for specificity?

MG

Gee, how much more specific could anyone possibly be?    ::) :bonk:

Well, generally speaking, somewhat.

Are we close on the Merc/VW line?  Country?  Continent? Planet?

MG

Think we can agree it IS an automobile, rich....... :-\

Rich

OH!!....of COURSE.  A Dannenhauer and Strauss!  How could it have escaped me?  The "ol' DS'er" as my uncle Adolf used to call her as we wheeled up to the curb at der Berlin Kugelhausen........I feel so stupid.

Using drawings based on a Mercedes Benz 220c Cabriolet!   :hah:

Fahrzenheitzung !   Now that I think of it, my old man had THREE of these, but they were converted to look like Pontiacs of the era.   :-\

based on Beetle, as all D&S. This one is not first generation, built between 1953-57. ( has one-piece windscreen )

Yes, that's it.
The car pictured is from 1953, by which time various changes to the original early 50s design had taken place, including the substitution of the split screen for a one piece version.

Should be merged with this one: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=1047.0

It was probably reposted because in the old puzzle is a typo in the headline, it must be Stauss instead of Strauss.
