This is my first try at this, i just registered last night and i have not been able to I.D. anything yet so i thought i would see how good you guys are.

Looks like a MB cabriolet to my eye, but I don't remember model numbers, dates of production and the name of the guy who installed the cam shaft bearings like some of the trivialists around here!

based on Beetle, as all D&S. This one is not first generation, built between 1953-57. ( has one-piece windscreen )

Yes, that's it.
The car pictured is from 1953, by which time various changes to the original early 50s design had taken place, including the substitution of the split screen for a one piece version.
