1 point for giving full details of this car, along with when it was built:

Volvo 644 prototype from 1965

It is indeed a Volvo PV644 prototype, yes.
But I have it as somewhat earlier than 1965.
Would Volvo really have considered bringing out something so hopelessly outdated-looking in 1965 to replace the PV544 which had soldiered on until then?  Maybe they would...!
So I'd like to see something that confirms your date as correct before I consider this one finally solved.
Locked for you!

Here's a front view for interest:

My source says it was the last attempt to modify the old-fashioned PV 544.
Some sources mention that Jan Wilsgaard penned this 1959-60, though I believe it was 1965 as production for the PV544 ended then.

Yes, I think we'll need a Volvo expert to get to the bottom of this.
My source also said 1959, but with that grille which came into use in the late 1960s I suspect that 1965 may be correct.

I found the following:

Quote
A not too serious attempt to revise the PV model was made and a third design was studied.  Today it looks pretty ugly.  The front was similar to the grille trim that later came on Volvo 164.  The rear fenders were extended and incorporated into the body.  This trick was used to make the car look like a regular sedan when seen from the rear.  The 'hunchback' design was tackled by extending the side windows.  Notwithstanding, this project never came further than the initial clay study.  In August 1966 Volvo launched their new model, the Volvo 140 series and with that a new era began.

So whilst that doesn't quote a date for the PV644 it indicates it was a last attempt to drag it out of the 1950s but they decided instead to go with something completely new, the 140, which would indicate it was around the mid-60's otherwise the time gap would be much too great.

So unless anyone proves otherwise it'll have to be called 1965!
