Who built this? What was its donor? For a point...
Experts?
Professionals?
Any relation to a Gatso?
Far, far away from the truth
The wheels suggest a BLMC group car as the base.
Austin?
Still, far, far away from the truth
Is it French?
I can only repeat myself: far, far away from the truth. Just would like to add one more thing: wrong continent.
American?
Yes, from USA
Apache?
No, not an Apache. As a matter of fact, I don't think it's got a name. That is why I asked only its donor and name of builder.
It (and especially its wheels) looks rather small, and the wheels would match with a Crosley. Is that right?
halfway there - the donor was a crosley, indeed.
Lucchese?
Builder's name was not Lucchese.
A little clue: family name of the builder (who was from Indiana) is the same as a Hungarian family which makes various wafers (lemon, cocoa, coconut etc.) since the 1950s
Last clue before this one retires to the Black Hole: name of the builder starts with a Z
Ziegler?
Yes!!!
Crosley-based fiberglass sports car, seen here at the Indianapolis car show, was built by W.J. Ziegler of Speedway City, Indiana
from Motor Life, September, 1956
