What is this called? Who built it? What was it based on?

It is indeed the Jehu.

Would you like to fill in any more information about this car?

woodinsight

I'm still undertaking research on this interesting car.
I can tell you it was built by Englishman John Horridge in 1954 and was based on a Riley (which model I don't know).
Engine was 1,5 litres and the car raced in the UK at Crystal Palace, Snetterton, etc.

Here is another photo of the car with John Horridge at the wheel.

Very interesting indeed, there seems to be a lot of conflicting information surrounding the car.
The body was actually an early Rochdale product, and the engine was from a Riley Sprite (I think). The reason I got interested in it was that it used a Jowett Jupiter chassis. The car was entered in the 1954 Bol D'or at Montlhery and came second by a whisker.

It was later rebodied with an Austin-Healey body tub and Rochdale nose section - I'd love to see a photo of that incarnation if anyone has one!

Interesting stuff indeed - I had no idea it had anything Jupiter about it.
I'll continue my research and post anything new here as I come across it.
