This is based on the platform of the Renault R4 goes under two names; the Brissonneau & Lotz Torpedo, and Sinpar Torpedo for the 4x4 version.

It is indeed Brissoneau's design, so you have a (well deserved) point.

But I'm going to keep the puzzle open because this design made production in another market under a different name - one point for the correct solution!

Djetset

Ophs, just noticed that Brissonneau should have two letter 'n's in the middle, but thanks for the point anyway.  Both Brissoneau and Sinpar built and sold a number of these in France, but i have a feeling it might also have been made in Algeria or Morocco, but i can't recall which, not sadly the name of the car!

Thanks for your erudite response! (Just for the record, it's not Algeria or Morocco)

Djetset

Not sure if there's still another point up for grabs here, but to answer your question, this was also made by Renault in the Philipines in small numbers, in addition to the French Sinpar and Brissoneau Torpedo S versions.

Quiller

Philippines is correct! But do you know its local name? Will hold it for you for 48 hrs

Djetset

I only know that it was built by Renault Philipines, as the only other name mentioned on the leaflet was 'Jeep.'

It does have a unique name. Anyone?

Arunas

It isn't Sakbayan is it?

Quiller

No, but some of the letters of the name are the same!

I think it was just called B.T.V., which stands for "Basic Transportation Vehicle" and was constructed and designed by Brissonneau and Sinpar for Renault of Phillippine
