What's the make and model designation of this car?

Quiller

Easy for an expert ?

guido66

I don't know about the car, but isn't that Sir Winston Churchill?  :D

Is this a selfbuilt car, or was intended for production?

Quiller

It was built by one man but was fully intended for production

Any chance of letting the world see it (even as a puzzle...)?

Here it is:

Quiller

Well that's clearly the same car. I have a different name for it, as I said, but if you have any more info on the 'Danilo' could you post it or PM me? The point may well be yours...

Arunas

In Beaulieu encyclopedia there's only a single sentence about this car:

Danilo (Denmark) 1958
"This was a very short lived microcar fitted with 175cc engine."

I have found this pictures on the internet, I'll try to find this source again...

Quiller

Many thanks!
I have this as the 1957 Nielsen, which the Beaulieu Encylopedia also lists - but I think it's the same car, as the Danilo appears to have been built by Jens Nielsen. So unless anyone can tell us different, I'm going to move this to the solved section and award Arunas the point

'Danilo' looks to me like a compilation of 'Danmark' (Danish for Denmark..) and Nielsen (what every other person in Denmark's surname is..)

...or possibly the fact that it had a 175cc ILO engine
