I´ve aquired some 20 old photographs from one family´s car history album recently.
Most of them show a 1934 Audi Front Kabriolett, an Audi Type C or E, and an Audi 920, all of them ran with Zwickau licence plates.

This one is the oldest photography. It also shows a very early license plate for the district of Zwickau in Germany.

But I do not have the slightest notion about what it is.

Zwickau was the home of Horch, Audi, DKW - it could probably be one of those marques. The car looks ca.1905-1914, so it could be a Horch or a very early Audi or something totally diffferent.
I´ve scanned the logo up to 4000 dpi and added it below - but there´s not too much to be seen.

Does anybody have an idea?

I'd vote for Horch, but I haven't access to Hallwart Schrader's book these days.
Bit like this one
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

I knew that I've seen that radiator and badge before! The  car is a Rex Simplex Doppelphaeton from around 1912. I can scan you a picture if you wish

Wow, that would be great indeed!

I was focusing on the shape of the radiator, fender and especially the badge. Picture is from Hans-heinrich von Fersen's Autos iN Deutschalnd 1885-1920.

Here's the logo...seems quite the same...but not identical.

Thanky you so much, Pal.

Your first picture has almost convinced me.
I´ll do some deeper studies now, too and I´m quite sure you´ll get the point!

I´m almost sure now that it is indeeed a Rex-Simplex C-17/30PS Doppel-Phaeton, built between 1907 and 1914.
It was a hefty 11.000 german Goldmarks back then, which is around 175000 EUR today.

So this is your point!

The car was owned by the brewery Grenzquell-Brauerei H. Günnel in Wernesgrün, one of the companies that formed the stiil active Wernesgrüner brewery.
