Sorry for that wrinkled pic.
And exceptionally it isn't modified with Photoshop.

It's hard to believe that.
I'm not the one who started posting every monstrosity which is available on the net... (http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g106/pan1968/Gifs/0009.gif)
next level.
:hah:

1/4 window looks like Mk1 Golf.
That might tell us something about the time and place of this.....Uhh... Thing.
Oh, I'm afraid the car was sold all over the world...
There are a lot of street lights on this picture. Is it from Belgium?
A good guess, but it's not Belgian.
Does the wheel manufacturer have something to do with this? (a promotion vehicle?)
I'm at home tomorrow to give you any accurate information, but as far as I remember it's not related
to any supplier or promotion purpose. It's obviuosely only the dream come true of a mad mechanic.
Do Pros know this beauty?
Mellberg?
Not Mellberg, (afaik)
On this I have to look at my home archive, as I can't remember its builder, so I'll reply at the next WE.
Not Mellberg
Magnus?
Is it Mercedes underbeath?

Magnus?
The taken pictures are made by a man called Magnus, but he's not the builder/designer of this monstrosity.

Is it Mercedes underbeath?
No, not a Mercedes, but another German car...
metalshapes already gave the right hint.
This is a heavily customized Golf and if I got the story right it is the result of a contest by a magazine, Bilsport
Right so far! You have 12h 24h to get me the builder.
Lesonal?
No, Lesonal was appearantly another sponsoring company

Why monstruosity? I kinda like it... ::) :P
is this company called VART?
i found same photos but there is nothing about bilder
and underneath are some components from Saab
As far as I know it's the personal project of one single (mad) man, but was sponsored by several companies.
Is this guy called Magnus?

Last call before I move it to the BH
ÅTTAHJULIGA Golfen ??
Not the name I have. I'm not sure if this mongrel has a certain name at all.
I want the builder's name for a point.
Only a few words are needed and maybe a little help of Google's translator (if you aren't a native speaker)
Then it should be (one of) the first search result(s).
Prexis? Regno?
I've gone through the whole thread with those photos, but couldn't find any mention of the builder (apart from the city he lives in).
I've checked it on myself if I could find the car/builder on the internet without knowing anything except what's written/shown here on this topic:
1. I've googled in Swedish.
2. I've searched after the distinctive/odd details of the car in combination with make and sponsor which were already figured out.
Google shows me on the first result all I want to know to solve this puzzle.
I'm either stupid or blind, cause I can't see it.
okay, then we do it together step by step:
The car is sponsored by? .......................................
A few companies, the only name that was mentioned explicitly is Lesonal.
Not that!
In Paul Jaray's post #20 another name is mentioned...
If you mean the Bilsport magazine, then it wasn't a sponsor. The car just won their contest.
Err, than it was a misinterpretation from my side... :-\
Apologize!

No problem :) I used the Bilsport name in my searches too. Bilsport, Golf, gullwing and eight-wheel (in english as well as swedish) - still nothing :(
Edit: Ari Koskinen :D
I was using åttahjulig in my searches, while it should have been 8-hjulig :)
Right you are. Ari Koskinen was the name I was after. One point for PJ and one for ImpishGrin.
