Any clues what this should be?
Fiat Spyder design mockup
No!
High time to promote those old rookie puzzles!
Reliant Scimitar prototype?
No
The 850 Spider was by Bertone, and this one shares a lot with it.
( Doorlock looks a lot like it, placement of the hinges on the decklid, and the placement of the badge on the back of the decklid )
But it looks bigger and front engined.
So I'm guessing its by Bertone as well...
Styling proposal for the Dino, maybe?
I like the front end a lot better than the 850 Spider, btw....
Wrong track... No Bertone & Fiat connection
French?
Not French.
It is italian, right? It looks Detomasoish to me.
No, it's not Italian
up!
From Old Blighty?
I guess you mean Great Britain, but no, it's not from there!
Is it Japanese?
Neither!
American?
Nope!
He liked straight lines, but he was not the only one...
Perhaps a Tom Tjaarda design. He liked straight lines. The headlights are similar to his Isuzu Bellett MX1600 GT design
Paul Bracq for BMW?

Something strange happened. I answered before you'd asked.... Some wizard has changed the order...
Anyway, as written before: someone else liked those straight lines as well!
Marcello Gandini?
Not him!
Was he a 'volunteer' or a BMW employee?

Neither a volunteer nor a BMW employee, but strongly related to BMW...
Count Albrecht Graf Goertz?
Not him!
I suppose you won't solve this puzzle by finding the designer first.
Count and Graf is the same thing :P
I can't avoid naming Hofmeister, although I believe he worked at BMW as chief designer.
Not Hofmeister, but he and his team worked at a similar project back then.
Straight lines? William Towns?
Not him. Not British at all
Big name for BMW Specials..

Baur?
Yes! Baur the company specialized on BMW
cabriolets. :applause:
Your puzzle till your next reply!
I really don't have a clue. :D
It looks relatively small, so my guess is that it's based on the code 114 series (1502-2002)
Not exactly... :-\
a bit older? code 115 perhaps (1500, 1800)
This car is not referred to any code, but has a model designation for what it was intended to be.
Not a 1600 or 1800...
spider 2000?
Acceptable for a point! :)
Actually my book reports it's a Baur styling model for a 2000 Cabriolet.
