It is an Italo-American thing, I mean, like the Duesenberg-Ghia or something similar?

To be very transparent with you, I've a different caption on the back of the photo but I'm not 100% sure ot it and so I hope to get your help in clearing my doubts.
However I'm quite sure about the coachbuilder, which is not Ghia. At least because Ghia's stand appears in the backgorund of the photo (behind the moving man on the left) and is far from this car.

This looks lik the rear-end of the lovely Pininfarina-bodied Fiat 2300 (as below), one of various 2300 coupes bodied by Pininfarina.

This is indeed what I've on the back of the photo.
The point is your, but have you any other rear-view of this car?
I assume it could be indeed the 1964 edition because all the other ones are different from this picture, but I've never seen a 3/4 image of that.  ???

I'll have a look when i get home at the weekend, as I do seem to recall seeing this beauty from another angle.  I'll scan in whatever I find and send it across.

Wasn't this one of the 'Lausanne' series?
The last one, I think, with plastic-covered headlights (the only one of the 4 in the series with them)?

Is part of that series, but not the last one: in fact there was also a 1965 edition with rectanguar headlamps.

So strictly speaking the answer to you puzzle should be 'Fiat 2300 Coupe Lausanne Edition 3' by Pininfarina?!

And this is the original picture form my archive. But still the question remains: is it really the 1964 one? And is it only because is different for all the other ones or there is somewhere a 3/4 view to clear any doubt?

given that it's not a completely different car (obviousely it's not) it must be the 1964 version as it's the only with a sharp tear-off edge

I agree with you. I did the same consideration when I got the photograph.

It's also the only one with a rubber strip on the bumper.

This is the closest shot of the rear I have:
