You're going round in circles here. You asked earlier if it was a Gipsy (which it isn't|) and it's also now been established that it's Japanese, not British, so no.
Mitsubishi?

You're not trying to get in as many no's as in 2 Unlimited's "No limit"?
I'm almost matching them, but I'm not going to say 'techno, techno, techno, techno!' ;D

Mazda
At last! I think Mazda was almost the only Japanese maque left that hadn't been mentioned.
So yes, it is a Mazda. Now, do you know the name of the model. Locked to you Yves for the next 24 hours. Happy hunting!
24 hrs are up. I didn't find the model name, but I did come across another photo:
Well, there's the proof that it's a Mazda! Unfortunately for you though Guido 66 to gain the point I also need the model name, and ideally the year too, so I'll now lock it to you for 12 hours.
shit locked.... just when I got it
Language(!) and patience please. Only 11 hours and 45 minutes to go until its unlocked again :-\
In Myanmar (Burma) manufactured MJ?
Think I've found another photo:
and another:
Now I've found it:
Mazda Pathfinder Station Wagon XV-1 SW 4x4 1972
Sorry Autogids :)
Phew, we got there in the end! Well done Guido, and almost but not quite Autogids!
I must confess that I didn't know about this Mazda until fairly recently. Seems it was produced from c.1971 until 1982, so strange that it remained so secret after 11 years in production. If any other puzzlers can add any more information, please feel free. Thanks.
P.S. Guido, you're getting dangerously close to become a Pro!
Wiki's image description:
Mazda Pathfinder Station Wagon XV-1 SW 4x4, produced in Burma in small numbers during 1972. Seen at RETRO CLASSICS, Stuttgart.
Ah, I wondered which show in Europe that photo was taken. I also wonder what based this vehicle used, as Mazda didn't produce many 4x4s in this period, apart from its pick-up trucks. Any ideas anyone?
Found this in a online library:
Factory No. 4 in Htonbo in Padaung Township in Bago Division produces 'Mazda' jeeps and other light vehicles. Recently the factory began producing MJ-1 and MJ-2 jeeps which have become very popular among users because of its low pricing. Production of these vehicles is therefore being accelerated. This factory also produces petrol and diesel engines for motor vehicles, pistons and piston-rings and batteries

I don't. Many cars from communist countries (which I believe is true for Myanmar too) are unknown in the "Western" world. Maybe made in low numbers too...
By the way, it is supposedly mentioned in this book: Kasimir Kardans Fahrten jenseits Alltag (Kasimir Kardans out-of-the-ordinary drives, to give a rough translation)
It might be somewhat based on the Mazda CA from around 1950?
Here's a rear end view of the Pathfinder
