Do you know this gentleman, sitting in his automobile? Who was he, why was he important? A point is at stake!

Is it William K Vanderbilt of Vanderbilt Cup fame?
In his Renault "Grand Prix Replica"?
Duncan Rollo

Beauchamp 1904.
The car was also known as Mayman, and it was powered by a single-cylinder 6hp.
I have the same pic, but in mine he is looking down!!

Yes, I have that book, though that was not the source. And yes, I knew it as a Mayman - Charles Mayman built it, who was one of the founders of the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria in Australia
