Post by: woodinsight on December 15, 2010, 08:14:22 AM
I only have a name, nationality, year and size of engine for this small car.
A point for anyone who can give me these details.

1955 Grataloup, apparently a one-off named for it's creator.
Built in France by M. Grataloup, Bagneres de Bigorre France it is powered by a 247cc Villiers 2 stroke.

I have seen the car up close but never this photo of it on the street.
Where did the photo come from?

That's correct - Grataloup three-wheeler
I have it as 1950 with a 350cc engine.
Photo came from a French magazine when the car was for sale.
Anyway, your point and well done!

I'm actually the one that took those pics of the car for the Microcar Museum.
But since that car has been up on the Museum website there has not been ONE bit of extra info that emerged about it until the pic from the magazine was posted here.

One of the nice things about posting pics and historical info on a Museum website is that if there are gaps or mis-information you generally get a number of anoraks calling you out on it at some point and that is actually welcomed as there is only so much research that a few people can do with the resources at hand.
Part of the point of putting all the cars up on the website is to hopefully get someone to run across one of the unknown ones and say "hey that info is wrong, I know the real story behind that car...)
But the Grataloup has remained a relative mystery.
