OK, haven't had much time to look into possibilities, but I'll take a shot just based on the dates: Stutz?

I hate to have it come down to questions like this, but: Does the name begin with a letter in the A to M range?

Between A and M
1st motorized buggy in 1899
Active in 1907 till 1911 with some passenger cars in the 30s
Active as I.H.C. in 2 years only, 1910 and 1911
Still alive.
