This should be easy for an expert

Aaron65

It looks a lot like a Tatra T87 with encolsed front wheels...is it based on a Tatra?

Carnut

Is this a BMW?
By Kamm and von Fachsenfeld perhaps?

woodinsight

Sorry Carnut, not BMW.
German yes but the designer is not Kamm or von Fachsenfeld.
Stick with Germany and you are on the right trail.

That's the car!
Well done Maxmotor - another point for you.

I guess woodinsight's pic is a little compressed.
A few more period pics:
(3rd photo shows it in the winter on the Autobahn Darmstadt-Frankfurt. Not much traffic, back then!)

woodinsight

Thanks Allemano - your photos give a much truer idea of this interesting car

One of my books says it may have been the personal car of Direktor Erwin Kleyer, COE of Adler in those days.

Here are some more photos:

According to the Autenrieth book this car was built for a businessman from London.

Thanks for all these very nice pictures!
The VS-license plate is German, it was used in the provence of Starkenburg (part of Hessen) just South of Frankfurt am Main, where, I think, the Adler factory was.
