Is there a Ford Falcon Sprint in there somewhere? 1964?

Allemano

A little earlier, but based on a Ford Falcon indeed!

mymokke

Theres something fishy about this being a pre-1964 Falcon.
If this an American issue Ford Falcon then the following need explaining.
The centered Hood dipression is not in keeping with the 60-63 Falcons, but is correct for the 64-65.
The body side contours are also not in keeping with the 60-63 Falcons, but are correct for 64-65.
I do like the black to red horizontal fade away paint job!

#7
fishy or not I have a quite reliable source that reports a production year before 1964.  ;)

Is that Dean Jeffries' Ford Falcon Python?

Bitchin' car, indeed.

In deference to mymokke, and given the photos I've found of him building the car, I think it was based on a 1964 Falcon. Given that the '64 model was released in 1963, and Jeffries tells of building the car in a hurry, it's possible it was a customized '64 that did tour auto shown in the later half of 1963.

Here is a '63 Falcon dash, a '64, and Jeffries working on the Python (with dash visible):

I took my infos from the Dean Jeffries book. It's possible that Ford's John Deimel gave Jeffries a pre-series model of the upcoming Falcon.

Otto Puzzell

That's where I got the last photo, too. I can't find a quote from him saying he started with a 1963 model year Flacon, only that the car was built in 1963.

I'm just sayin', mymokke may have gotten an unintentional red herring (keeping with the fish theme)  :)

So.. you got the Jeffries book as well.
Quite interisting..

There's no question this is based on a 1964 Falcon, not a 1963.

Thanks for your comments Otto & fyreline, I was starting to doubt my vision.
