Giveaway week:
This italian car was made by a well known name in the race circuit and this car was not Fiat-based.
As I wrote before, this name is not one of the known etceterini builders's one but probably many of you have already heard of it (even if it may not be the same man.............)

I was hoping to keep this one until I become a pro but because PJ made it part of his 'giveaway week' I can't take the risk to wait any longer.
The name I have for it is a mouth full:
Volkswagen 1100 elaborata sport Carrozzeria Balestra Superleggera Spider Corsa

OK then, I won't consider your reply until then.  ;D

:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:
Finally!
That's the car, built by Officina Costruzioni Balestra (Giuseppe -Beppino- and Luigi) from Bassano del Grappa.
They took a Fiat 1100 chassis, put a Volkswagen engine and matched it with a BMW gear.
I think I know where you find THAT name.
This car was advertised for sale in 1956 (?) by Nino Balestra (that was the well known name) that was a cousin of the builders.
Another view of the same car is in the "La sport e i suoi artigiani" book, on pag.80.

Once I need to compete with the pro's, this will probably be the only way to break trough the 200 point barrier.  ;)

The front of the car pictured on p80 of the "La sport e i suoi artigiani" book, looks different, but it might indeed be the same car that was rebodied a bit.
(It was for sale in august 1958)
