Panhard based?
No.
PJ - your PM box is full and I want to send you a message...
I don't know what's the limit, days ago there were more than 40 messages, now 30! I'm deleting the old ones.
More than 2 months... :disbelief:
Coachbuilt?
Mr. Jaray your in-box is is full!
This became the "full in-box" topic! ;D
Fixed!
Alright, not Panhard based and my inbox is full, then?
It is either French or Italian. Although there seems to be something French abotu the appearance of this car, the scenery and the girl look Italian. So I put my money on the boot-shaped country and go for carrozzeria-built Fiat 103. Maybe Vignale or Boano or...?
Not Fiat, Fiat-based or Italian at all...
A variation on a Rambler American?
Not Rambler-based..
So, it is French.
Not French...
From Europe?
:shakehead:
'murcan?
South America, then?
For me it looks like a coachbuilder dressed a skoda.any relations?
JAPAN?
There seems to be a good reason why this is in the Professional section...
We are running out of continents soon.
Maybe its Japan, then? Looks too stylish to be japanese, but they were fond of apeing the americans and europeans in the fifties.
Edit: I'd better type quicker next time.
.. but Asian it is?

:shakehead:
only Africa is left or have I overlooked something?
Republic of South Africa?
:shakehead:
From one of the former nothern African French colonies? Algeria perhaps?
from a British ex-colony, then? ???
This was the right path...
french base?
Not based on a French car. Once you discover the place, I think this is the only car ever built (or coachbuilt) there!
from a Belgian Ex-colony?
from a German Ex-colony? ;D
:shakehead:
shakehead to both I guess...?
Sorry, I missed the first, but , yes, to both.
As far as I know that excludes all of the African countries which had been colonies at least once in their history, right?
Africa has lots of countries and I won't pick each of them...
Belgian British French German ex-colony.
There is another nation that was going shopping there...even if, during the years, there are at least 3 different influences in this place, one of them was British.
Oh no, my fault! I missed the other imperialist states..
Italian Ex-colony? ;D
I'm not so chauvinist...not Italian. ;)
an Island state?
MadagasCAR...
Nhope..
in the Indian Ocean?
The other side...
Cape Verde?
Go South...
??? São Tomé and Príncipe? (was never under British influence as far as I know)
According to Wikipedia there are only two African Island States in the Atlantic Ocean:
Cape Verde Islands
São Tomé and Príncipe
OK, my foult, this car comes from an island, and this island is part of a state. The capital of this state is in this island. ;)
Bioko is the name of the Island. Biggest city is Malabo which is the capitol of Equatorial Guinea..
And Bioko is the place, even if it had another name at the time.
Now the easy part...who made it on which car?

It can be too hard, this pic cames from the web, after all!
The car name is Fernando Poo?
Not the car's name,...
Biocco?
Bioko Island was also known as Fernando Poo, so, technically this car was made in Fernando Poo.
I guess there are few cars originated there.
Is there a Simca underneath?
Not a Simca...
A Fiat?
Is the engine of European origin?
Not a Fiat, but this is a coachbuilt version of an european car, not an Italian nor a French one.
German? (DKW, Auto-Union)
Not German...
GB?
Yes.
major company?
Absolutely yes.
Is there a Ford Zephyr underneath?
Not Ford...
Austin?
I think it is Rover based.
Amilibia?
Not the name I have.
I am now intimately familiar with the history of Fernando Poo (Bioko). I have seen a lot of photo albums depicting life, cars and history of the island.
You said that the photo is from the web. Is it from a Bioko-related page or a page on interesting cars?
This pic cames from a blog-forum about cars, and it is part of a magazine's page and the article says:
Car designed and coachbuilt in Fernando Poo
This picture shows the touring car entirely designed and coachbuilt by ??? ???, in ??? in Fernando Poo. The car is built aroud the chassis of an Austin ???, ???HP, and is equipped with an hardtop. The creator of this car realized a design with acceptable lines in the modern concept of coachbuilding.
I am now reading Spanish classic car forums. Am I on the right track?
This is not a question about the car, isn't it?
(probably you are... ;))

there is where I found this...
Sure, but even though I have tried a lot of different combinations, still no cheese :(
Black hole I'm coming...
Is that source still available? The two most common boards are showing no results after searching any possible key word.
Or is this pic scanned from an old magazine (article) with all descriptions included?
This pic is scanned from an article (that I cut) taken from a spanish forum, quite known, where I took other puzzles already solved.
Unfortunately I can't find back that page anymore, so the only reference it's that article, that is complete and detailed.
a so called worst case scenario.. :-[
there is not much I can do...now it's just a name that is missing....(3 actually)
Giveaway week, Pt.2
This car was made by Angel Fernandez __________ in Santa Isabel, Fernando Poo.
The missing part is quite easy...it's a common name and it suits 'Fernandez' quite well...
Angel Fernandez Fernando?
Not Fernando, but a common name that sounds like Fernandez...
Rodriguez?
YYEESSSS!
Well done, Allemano!
One of the oldest one is gone!
Did this guy make 1 or multiple cars?
All I know is written there...I tried to look for more, but I couldn't find anything else. :-\
Sheer luck it was, but thanks anyway!
