What's this? Name of the donor, coachbuilder and year - for a point
^-^
^-^ and ^-^
Guessing 1 out of 3: Spohn?
Yes, this is a Spohn body
Professionals, here's your chance
I have a slightly different version, made on a Chevrolet chassis for an Air Force Jet Pilot in 1955.
It looks like Spohn was channeling the Paxton Phoenix when the front end was being designed. The rear is more in keeping with the standard (for them) Le Sabre look.
Not Chevrolet chassis and not 1955 - earlier
Oldsmobile, then?
The Pontiac-Cadillac and Ford verions were all different...
Nope, not an Oldsmobile
Last guess...Mercury?
I think you hit on it before. PJ - the opposed wipers and overall size say "Cadillac" to me.
It is a Mercury-based custom by Spohn.
Howdy, I'm a newbie and found the site because of researching Spohn customs. I've been tracking one such car for about 45 years. Attaching the key ingredient photo scan. I'll check back later...

I think he is asking if anyone knows what car this is? I am not sure. Hopefully he drops by with more specificity.
I believe this is the alleged "Veritas by Spohn that inspired the Buick LeSabre" that has been flogged at various sites by the alleged owner curator / seller of the car. It sits in a museum out west. I have some more info at home, and will comment later.
Found it. Google "Hartung License Plate Museum", Veritias and Spohn", and you'll find plenty of posts around the net about this one. :(
Ol' "Veritas49" had 'em buying it, hook, line and sinker. ;D
By the way, StillOutThere is a well-known Texas auto collector, whose cars are mentioned on lots of automotive sites around the web. Good to see you, WG!
Here is another picture of the Spohn custom I have been tracking on for decades. Same car as in my pics, same paint, decades later and now gone from the location where photographed. Still would like to know CURRENT location and accurate identity of the make and year of the car. Anyone out there that has seen it or knows its whereabouts?
