Hi, that's the Story an electric 3-wheeler 2-seater Dutch "car", built between 1941-1944 85 times.

@re

Well - that one did last long - more than a month... :)

Arunas

Hey! Are there anymore details available?

DynaMike

The Story was produced by the 'Internationale Automobiel Maatschappij' in The Hague (maatschappij = company), originally planned as a pedal car, but in September 1940 changed to an electric vehicle. The body was made by Pennock (also in The Hague), the 30 Volt electric engine came from EMI in Utrecht. With five 6 Volt batteries the car could drive during two hours and a half. Topspeed was 25 km/h. Production stopped because of lack of materials. After the war, some of the Story cars got a two-stroke engine and could thus survive for a while. But I don't know if any of these still excists.

I highly appreciate that! Thank You!

P.S. It seems the text was taken from a book, am I right?

DynaMike

A book, indeed: Autodesign in Nederland, by Jan Lammerse, edition Waanders, Zwolle, 1993, ISBN 90-6630-372-7.

Know it? Tell me and get a point.

Paul Jaray

Nice pic!
Are you sure this is not a repost?
(if you search only the subject you won't have 13 pages of results...)

guido66

I don't know what it is!  ;D

Paul Jaray

I'll send you a PM  ;)

Paul Jaray

Thanks to guido66 we have a front view of a (slightly different) Story!

ftg3plus4

The front-view pic looks like it may have a license plate blocked out or something. Has this pic been modified, and if so can an unmodified version be posted? Thanks.

It is - at least by the looks - a well finished machine.

I believe G denotes Noord-Holland province.

DynaMike

Yes, G = Noord-Holland.

A complete list of the province numbers:

A = Groningen
B = Friesland
D = Drenthe
E = Overijssel
G (and GZ) = Noord-Holland
H (and HZ) = Zuid-Holland
K = Zeeland
L = Utrecht
M = Gelderland
N = Noord-Brabant
P = Limburg

I have the name and town of the owner of this car, but don't want to reveal my source just yet....  ;)

DynaMike

The triangular paper on the windscreen, is tat a wartime permit to drive?
