OK - was the designer Brooks Stevens?

Ray B.

No.
Don't forget what I may not have made clear enough in my first post: this was based on an existing car, as a proposal for its evolution.

I think it's a Tucker that never was.

Question - the car in the second pic seems to have "dagmars" protruding from the rear, where the top picture shows a recessed egg-crate pattern. Are these two slightly different variations on the same theme, or are the dagmars movable?

Meanwhile - six tailpipes; apparent rear-engine. I'll guess it is Porsche-related.

I don't know about the dagmars. The rest of the car seems quite the same in both drawings. So maybe they were supposed to be movable, or it's just a mistake from the designer.

The car it was based on was mid-engined, you're almost right. But it was not a six, whatever was in the designer's mind for this one.  Anyway, not Porsche related.

For some reasons it looks like a Playboy

Ray B.

Not a Playboy (and no connection I am aware of).

Is it really from 1950?
A few years earlier. As the drawings were for a production car that could have been marketed in 1949-50.

This isn't known. I'd say earlier.
Do you mean the drawings or the existing car?

I mean the years of the sketch...
