Strange, isn't it? I knew I'd seen this car somewhere before, but couldn't place it, then just now I stumbled across it while I was looking for something completely different.

If the source can be relied on, this is a Malaxa of 1945, made in Reşiţa, Romania. Another web source says that it was powered by an air-cooled 3-cylinder radial engine, mounted in the back and driving the rear wheels, but I don't know how accurate this is.

Malaxa appears to have been a large company, mainly involved with railway engineering. Its founder Nicolae Malaxa seems to have had a colourful life, with some involvement with the Nazi regime in Germany, and ending his days in America, where he was investigated for communist connections, and friendship and business links with Richard Nixon.

Some puzzlers add "detailed answers are greatly appreciated by all" with the picture of the puzzle car.
This is one of the most detailed and interesting identifications that I've read.
Well done!
