... although her career was quite brief. But's that's not what she will be remembered for.
Pros?

Somehow the guy next to her looks more familiar to me..
Was she an actress?

Thanks, Allemano.
Yes, an actress. As for the guy, you may think that he looks like Victor Mature, or a common mobster, but he's none of those.

You're right about my assumption. To me he looks like a young Frank Vincent. (whose career started as he already was over fourty years old..)

Why was the lady famous? Was it because of her child?

Not her child, but another member of her family.

I go for Anne Frances Robbins, better known under the moniker Nancy Reagan.

Well tried, but no. Short career, husband who danced, sung and acted, but no.

I'm usually too generous with my clues, so, let's just say that she was ten years younger, and no more clue today.

And another one gone / Another one bites the dust

May Britt buys New Studebaker. Comments: Not from a movie, but a studio publicity shot of Swedish star May Britt ("The Blue Angel") buying her new Studebaker, possibly the Golden Hawk 5.8.

Sorry, but the dust isn't completely bitten yet.
All right, this is May Britt, made famous not by her husband, but by the fact that SHE married HIM. Him being Sammy Davis Jr, one eyed, negro, and jew.

But this is an auto puzzles forum and you're required to be precise when it comes to cars. It is a Studebaker alright, but not, as the wzbsite who published this picture (uncropped) states, a Golden Hawk.
I'll be happy with only the year (and there were no Hawks yet then), as there is no way to tell the model.
Locked for you 48 hours.

The site says 1957, but I believe, looking at the car, that the photo was taken in 1955 - when there was no Golden Hawk indeed.

All right, but you you mind telling us the model year of the car? You can do it in one post, I'd say. Don't go fishing please.

Okay, let me phrase it otherwise. The photo may have been taken in 1957, but the car is a 1955 Studebaker - methinks

That's it. On the whole picture you can see the grille and it's unmistakable.
Well done.
