What is it, when was it built and what's it's name. For one point
We should start a new topic where we put all those lotus super 7 derivates, kits, ripp-offs etc..
I'm curious how many we would find.

I think the number is uncountable :)
I'd say at the VERY least 100 variations on a theme...
;D Anybody else wanna complain?
Experts?
Almost looks Austin 7 based. A 750cc special?
Yes it is built from Austin 7 parts.
Pro's?
BSA Austin 7 special?
Dante Sprint?
No to both, This one is a one-off home built and was given a very strange name.
It is only on one site on-line and so not an easy find
Just to make it clear - was it built in the UK?
Yes!
I think I remember someone building something like this in Alma Road, St Albans. Called it Buroche for some reason.

That is not this one. According to the story, the strange name had somehow to do with the color he painted it, although built in the UK the name does not sound English to me at all.
The only non-English sounding name I can find is Arteesi
No that's not it.
To me the name sounds Dutch and it makes me think of beer ;D
Oranjeboom? ;D

That's indeed what it sounds like. The first part of the name is slightly differnt, and the second part is a little shorter and relates also to a type of beer.
Oh, and do not drink Oranjeboom. it is horrible.
Orangebomb?
Getting colder
Correction. Same amount of letters as Oranjeboom. Only three letters are different.
Orangebock?
Closer but no, remeber it does not sound English
Another try - Oranijebok?
I'd suggest Dubbele Klap for its implications in English :o

Yes!!! that is the strange name given to this home built car
It was built in 1960 from Austin Seven parts by a local enthusiast
The body was aluminium on a wooden frame and was painted in orange emulsion which surprisingly was very durable. The name painted on the bonnet was Orinjeboks.
How this enthusiast came up with this name I do not know. It ain't English is it?
It sounds like oranje which is Dutch for orange.
I think the name is derived from "orange box"
The simple children's homemade cars of my youth were termed 'soapbox' - four pram wheels and a wooden box body. Races for these cars were known as Soapbox Derbys.
The car in question, painted orange was therefore appropriately named.
