Title: Arunas' #512 - a blitz puzzle #1 SOLVED: 1994 Gillet Vertigo
Post by: Arunas on October 20, 2011, 12:48:12 PM
Hello All,

here's my first puzzle without picture or as I call it - a blitz puzzle.

The rules are very simple for this case: there first puzzler who correctly identifies the one and only car that I mean wins a point.

Only one guess or one question can be asked per post. The clues, if needed, will follow later. Good luck!

CLUE #1: 1994

Geez.  I'm running out of European manufacturers.  You say it's not German, British, Swedish, French or Italian.  What's left?

Eastern Bloc?

this one isn't from a country famous of cars, You eliminate all the biggest country in Europe
another clue reminds me of an Alfa Romeo engines displacement
i know Gillet cars from many years and I knew they changed engines from Ford Cosworth to Alfa
there was also some racing versions
it was a lucky shot :)

Gillet is a Belgian automobile manufacturer, started in 1994 by former racing driver Tony Gillet. The company produces the Vertigo sports coupé, an ultra-lightweight (990 kg) 'bespoke' and hand-built sportscar. The first Vertigo was powered by a Ford Cosworth 2.0 litre 4-in-line, later evolutions are powered by more powerful and noble engines: the 3.0 litre Alfa Romeo V6 engine and the 4.2 litre Ferrari/Maserati V8 in the latest evolution called Vertigo.5
3.2:
Gillet was timed 3,266 seconds in 0 - 100 km/h sprint by Guiness World Record as a fastest accelerating production car
