Not Sbarro-related, but geographically I'd say you're not very far off. There is a subtle hint in the car's rear design...

I haven't heard of it being called the GT - but that's close enough, as nobody else seem to know what it could be. It is the 1985 Aper Roadster. Congratulations!

The red car?
That was a concept citycar, where the rear part supposedly could be removed. Golf-based if memory serves right.
