Plenty of rookie points available at the moment, lets start a few with the experts.
Who has seen this before?
Italiano?
The Italians would be ashamed if this was one of thiers.... not from there!
Well, then going for the only ones who wouldn't be ashamed: Martians? ;)
I think even Martians would be slightly embarrassed by this...
Contrary to appearances, this is a strictly Earth-based lifeform, and from a country usually known for it's good taste.
Incroyable!
British ?
Surely it's French?

British ?
British it is, although clearly aimed at the American market
Is that a Jensen badge I see on the bonnet?

Perhaps it's Austin of England then?
Precursor to the Austin Atlantic?
I see where you're coming from, but it's not an Austin product.
It is the first incarnation of a production car that looked rather different in its finished guise, however
Triumph?
Precursor to the Triumph TR Roadster, which of course led to the TR series?
I'm guessing Daimler SP250 predecessor?
Healey?

I believe your picture is horizontally flipped! The car, according to my info, has the steering wheel at the right side.
No to all of the above!
Arunas you may be right, it would make much more sense if it was RHD but I have no way of checking as my information on this is very limited!
Maybe a Sunbeam Alpine?
We are rapidly running out of British makers: Alvis?
The windscreen looks like it could be from a Riley RM. Any connection?

He is.
Still nothing correct yet!
The make is much smaller than any of those you've mentioned... At least 2 pros seem to know what it is so hurry up experts before it gets moved up...
How about Aston Martin???
Smaller still....
Morgan?
Jowett Jupiter?
Not Morgan or Jowett!
Paramount?

Paramount?
YES!
And that's all I know I'm afraid, it's a Paramount prototype. Any of the pros care to offer some more information?

A special-bodied Paramount. Who was responsible for the body - I don't know.

They'd probably want to keep quiet about it.....
The standard Paramount body wasn't particularly attractive, but this is absolutely hideous.
Interesting, though. :)
Great pictures Arunas.
If the numberplate is to be believed this is dated at 1949 which makes it a pre-production car. I'm unsure if this was a proposal for the Paramount styling or merely a one-off built by a seperate firm, but the date encourages me to believe the former.
I'll move it to solved, but can anyone else shed some more light on this car? (I know you probably just want to stop looking at it now!)
