Know what this is? I'm sure someone does! Full details for a point please. (apologies for the image quality)

I think this might be the car built in New Zealand by a Mr. Morrison on a Bradford van base to resemble a Jowett Jupiter. I'd guess it was built in the 1960s.

"It started off being a 4-cylinder (Javelin) factory prototype of the replacement for the 2-cylinder Bradford van, which never went into production. It was bought by its present owner who removed the van body and fitted a Jowett Jupiter front, Morris Oxford doors, and a Jowett Javelin back end to the Bradford chassis, with this result." ???

EDIT : Too late.... 1 second!   :shiner:

Well between you you've cracked it. It's not based on the Bradford chassis like MJW guessed but on one of the aborted CD chassis. Several CDs were sent to Australia after Jowett folded (I'm not sure why) and I believe one or two still exist in thier original configuration.

I'll give each of you a point as I know how hard it is to answer anything at pro level, Although I'd hoped this would confuse you a little longer than it did.

not just the doors off a morris - looks like windscreen too so i reckon maybe whole passenger compartment ... love to see it in the flesh.

Thanks barrett, I'm glad you gave Joao a point as well.
My description was vague as I didn't know the full details of this interesting Jowett.
We are all waiting like vultures to pounce on the crumbs up here in the Professionals!  :D

The Jowett agent in New Zealand (not Australia!) imported a few CD Bradfords with a view to taking them in bulk. The few they got have all rusted away apart from the one that gave its chassis to Vic Morrison for the car he calls the CDR3. It has a fibreglass replica Jupiter bonnet and Javelin body parts behind the Morris Oxford doors. Only one CD is known to survive in complete form, in the UK, it is a Utility-bodied car. There were the remains of the CD pickup but I think it is all gone now. Read all about it in my hardback book "Jowett Jupiter Special Body". Ed Nankivell
