The Rex Mc Candless designed /built Mule , 4wd using a Norton engine , it was built for a British Government Competition to find a new Jeep , it is said to have won hand's down , but the contract went to Rover , thus the Land Rover , a political decision to bring jobs to the British Midlands ,a fact it is said left a very bitter tastein Rex's mouth .
