This should be an easy point for someone. What is this, who built it, when, and what was it based on?

I had found in my archives a photo that could be the puzzle car but only appears its rear? . Could be this E.J. Tobin BMW 328 Fiberglass Bodied Special built in 1952 the same car?

The car was not built by E. J. Tobin, but by the DiGioia brothers of Wallingford for Tobin.
