Aren't those Lancia wheels? Maybe an Astura special body?

Biondetti's Jaguar special?

No; that would be a repost.
It's not a Jaguar, despite appearances to the contrary.

Very good!
And where was Joe Gertler based?  Locked for your reply.

Any idea when it was done (just for interest, not part of the point-scoring questions!)

Indeed!
Apparently it was rebodied to look like a C-type Jaguar in about 1952.

I can't check the veracity of this as for some reason I can't bring up the picture on the original puzzle (I can't get the picture on about 25% of the puzzles now but have no idea why; anyone else having problems?); if it is right can you merge it please PJ?

Other pictures of it:

The picture of the original is the bottom one of the group of three.
I note that Kerry Stagmer joined in March 2011 to tell us he was/is the car's current owner - I should know if he still has it but don't.

I have the same problem. I can't see a lot of pics today.
About this puzzle I remember few cars by Gertler already featured here but didn't remind of this.
I'm sure the pic I can't see show the same car and I think we can merge it.
