It's a 1938 SW38 chassis with a postwar body by Spohn, built for Karl Maybach himself.
chassis 2131.

Currently located at the Mercedes Benz museum

Bonjours Ecurie,

I´m proud to be the one who brings you to pro-status. As you´ve named the right chassis number you obviously know the difference between the two cars below:

For anyone interested. The car is currently located at the fabulous "Meilenwerk" in Düsseldorf.

This true Eldorado for oldtimer-friends opened its gates in the old ring locomotive shed at the Harffstrasse 110 a in September 2006. More than 200 historic cars of all brands are permanently presented in the former railway repair shop. The car's owners can offer their treasures in air-conditioned areas for sale or for rent . Interested non-owners (or enthusiastic photographers) are invited to take a look at close range. Another highlight: The entrance is free. ,,MEILENWERK "is open from Monday to Saturday at 8 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. Apart from the Duesseldorf unit, ,,MEILENWERK" has also a unit in Berlin and one is planned for Stuttgart.

I´ve had the luck to purchase the original 1967 Maybach FIF (= Fahrzeuginstandsetzung Friedrichshafen / former Zeppelin AG) press photo, which shows TT-AP 80, the former Brunner-Schwer car and the other TT-AP 81 Spohn car, then owned by the Mercedes Museum.

So here´s a better version of my former pic:

Just to get things straight: the puzzle car is "TT-AP 80" built for Karl Maybach, according to Metternich a SW42. It is recognizable by its vertical A-pillars. It is the right car in replies #4 and #6, and the first picture in reply #8. I'll add two (not so good) pictures I made in 2007 at the Düsseldorf Meilenwerk as well.

The other car "TT-AP 81", according to Metternich a SW38, has slanted A-pillars. It is the left car in replies #4 and #6, the car in reply #7 and the second picture in reply #8.  ;)
