That's not it. The missing word is a proper noun. And it's not Ford, Shelby, nor Iaccoca.

Is the proper noun the name of a city?

Right! An endorsement / jingle that you could take home on a 45 and play over and over again.

QuoteA sharp 6-piece group from Rumson and Seabright, NJ, the Mods often performed in Asbury Park and at Le Teen de Vous in Middletown, with competition like the Castiles (one of Springsteen's first bands) and the Inmates. The original band members were Rich Lillie on vocals and his brother Bob Lillie on guitar, Phil Watson lead guitar, Wally Hageman guitar, Bob Busch on bass and Bruce Cunningham on drums.

The band released two 45s on the Al Mott's Revelation VII label, the first a promotion for a local Ford dealer, Go Steinbach's Mustang, with a crude cover of Satisfaction on the flip.

The clue said to ask Davey Jones. The unidentified sometimes-security-guard artist is not a Davey or David or Dave, and never played one.

But Davey Jones does know who he is.

Otto replied "No", but you're wrong, Otto. There is a town in Michigan named Cadillac, in honor of Antoine de Lamothe-Cadillac, (from whom the marque is named), and two other in France. Wowever, these ones are not connected to him, because his real name was Antoine Laumet, and Antoine de Lamothe-Cadillac was only an assumed identity.

That was for the wrong clue, Ray...The proper noun was for the "Go Steinbach's Mustang" song...

Ray B.

Sorry. I kind of got lost in this puzzle as you might have noticed.

I've been to Cadillac, MI, so I wouldn't have made that gaffe. And I know Antoine's story well. BTW, a portrait of him went identified as my avatar for some months, during the 'who is he today' series.  ;D
