You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Tom_I

We get there slowly.... :)

Artist 4 is an Australian garage band called the Hergs.

Song 11, "Cadillac" was the B-side of their 1967 single "Style of Love", and was a cover of Vince Taylor's twelve-bar blues song "Brand New Cadillac".

Aaron65

Nice job finding that one Tom!  There are a LOT of songs called "Cadillac!"

I hope I didn't ask this already...does Song 5 have "Traffic" in it?

Otto Puzzell

The picture does.. ;)

The song title does not

Was artist #12 a '60s country/western artist?

Oguerrerob

Just to get it out of my head. Is the 1 Song: Always crashing in the same car (D Bowie) and related to Artist 10?

Not C&W, but a related genre

No David Bowie songs in this puzzle.

Otto Puzzell

No, but the title refers to a specific type of road.
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Ray B.

Interstate?
(but I find a good dozen songs with the word in the title, and none of them seem to match the faces left in the artists pictures)
He Touched Me With His Noodly Appendage

Otto Puzzell

Not Interstate, but you're on the right road. Indeed, some Interstate highways are this type of highway.

Turnpike?

Also (sorry, you may have answered this earlier, but there are already 5 pages to search): Is the word part of the title or does it appear only in the lyrics?

Oh, you did answer this...

Turnpike?

I find 105 songs (or covers) with turnpike in the title. :nerves:
He Touched Me With His Noodly Appendage

Ray B.

#119
Freeway?

... And 298 with Freeway in the title... :shiver:
He Touched Me With His Noodly Appendage

Could Artist #10 be David Grisman, to be matched with Tune #5 Blackberry Turnpike ?
He Touched Me With His Noodly Appendage

Otto Puzzell

Not him, and not that song. Can Grisman somehow be tied to David Bowie? Was he once a security guard?

I don't know if the Blackberry Turnpike actually exists.

The Turnpike in the song title in the puzzle is the turnpike pictured.

You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Tom_I

I'm still not quite sure where the picture comes from, but Artist 10 is Norman Carl Odam, better known as the Legendary Stardust Cowboy, or just "The Ledge". He links to Song 5, "New Jersey Turnpike".

David Bowie has said that the second name of his alter ego Ziggy Stardust was taken from the name of the Legendary Stardust Cowboy.

Otto Puzzell

Now that wasn't so difficult, now was it?  ;)
