a man and "his" car:
Horch?
Not a Horch.
A Hispano Suiza, perhaps.
not spanish
German?
yes!
Maybach
Not a Maybach.
August Horch listening to his Audi?
No link to Auto Union.. (no DKW; Horch; Audi; Wanderer)
Steyr
Well, Steyr was german from 1938-194X during germany´s WWII occupation (they had to built "useful things like the RSO "Raupenschlepper Ost" in that hard times).

But the car we´re looking for was far before that. Steyr was and still is an austrian company
Correction: was, and is again.
Grosser Benz spezial?
longshot, but is it some kind of German-bodied Duesenberg? By Spohn maybe?
no Mercedes, no Duesenberg. This was built in Germany completely...
Protos?
NB Hispano-Suiza is neither Spanish or Swiss, but French
Neither of those named...
Hannomag?
No Hanomag.
It looks like an Austro-Daimler AD8 of about 1932. But they were made south of Vienna in Wiener-Neustadt, Austria. It also resembles a Graft und Stift SP8 also of Austria.
otto
Right, no car from Austria.
N.A.G.?
not an NAG or another Berlin-based brand.
Form Wuerttemberg?
Not from Baden-Württhemberg...
We still have 14 alternatives :)
Well, this company still belongs to GM today.
And this information is the link to the fact that not even one of those cars (Coupés,Limousine etc.) survived...
Can it be Fritz von Opel and his Regent coupé?
Exactely ! When GM bought Opel, all Regents produced were destroyed. Even those already sold were bought back and wrecked!
So not even one did survive...
Found two less-known pictures of this beautiful car:

Why?
General Motors didn't want an in-house rival.
Thank you for the photos!
If Opel was Mercedes-Benz or Audi or BMW there would have been a replica of the Regent in the company museum.
But there´s still not even an official Opel museum...
I understood that few Regents have been made and that they actually were never recalled but deemed not a succes?
This one was bodied by Kruck

Just 25 Regent built, but definitely bought back by GM.
