A point will be yours if you identify this car:
Hey, front page attention!
Experts?
Pros?
VW based?
One-off?
Not a one-off and not exactly VW-based..
British?
Porsche based?
Carlton-related?
Not British, not Carlton related but Porsche based indeed, if I understand my source correctly.
French?
Not French
Looks as though it could be a modified Belgian Apal
It's not from Belgium and I don't think there is an Apal connection, either.
Non-European perhaps?
No, it is from Europe ;)
Perhaps another photo will help:
Deutsch?
Nein, nicht Deutsch.
Austrian?
Not from a German speaking country
Northern Europe?
Yes
It looks a bit like a car that was for sale in Germany, half a year ago. It was a 1967 unknown Volkswagen based kitcar, build and imported from Sweden.
There's one difference: this one is not unknown ;)
Down in the hole..
Mellberg?
No, not that.
Am I correct in thinking it is from Sweden?
Yes, it is Swedish
Perhaps 2 more photos will bring this puzzle back to life? ;)
It's a Peugeot! (in the background)
Does it say "Elva"?
Not an Elva. I cannot read what's on the car, but it doesn't appear to match the name of the car.
MFI Malmo FlygIndustri 1965 Sweden
Not the name that I have for it.
Were the current pictures taken at Hofsnäs?
I don't know. I can find the source of the recent photos anymore. The older photo is still out there.
Volkswagen based?
In the beginning I answered that it was sort of Porsche based. The only remaining source is not clear about this (or it must be and my poor knowledge of Swedish) ;)
Anyway, I found another photo and 3 sketches
Thank you. It is now clear. It was called the Cobble Special, based on a Porsche 356
I'm not certain about the Porsche 356 part (Google translation is a bit unclear) but you've got it! Well done
Finally!
Can you post the unaltered pic?
Found it, thanks!
Information about who and when built these two (or more??) cars would be appreciated!
