I´m quite sure it is no TOJ.

The name I have is the one of a quite well known automobile building company.

And I do not think they had the help of TOJ ("Team Obermoser Jörg").

The distance would have been ways too big....

Would this be a concept drawing of the 1998 Williams/BMW sports racer?

Planned as a group 6 car it finally ran in only one race (afaik).

Regarding the front end I would guess there must be a BMW connection.

It really looks European, but judging by your replies, may well be American.

GRD ( GROUP RACING DEVELOPEMENTS) a race cae manafacturer set up on the demise of Lotus as a supplier of customer racing cars , they built a 2L G6 racer , which went on to form the basis od the TOJ range and they sold cars to Japan for thier series so I assume we have a Japanese racer here .

Hmmm, you might be right partly.

I do not know too much details about it, but I do agree with the "2l G6 racer"

But it ran under a well known japanese car maker´s flag.

So I think your research results are good enough to declare this puzzle:

LOCKED for 24h for you!

Right you are!

I do not really know how you´ve managed to identify this, but it is indeed an 2l G6 Isuzu racing car.

I´m not totally sure about its model designation, but I think it is "Isuzu Spider 2000" and it ran at the 1973 Fuji 300km as I can recall from my memory.

I´ll check these dat when I´ll be back from work.

But this is definitly your point!
