Is there anything more info avalable on this car?
Recently it was posted somewhere else before, but it seems noone knows much more about it.

Indeed!

That's my source too... :)

I highly doubt that the name is spelled correctly. On a website where you can find the local appearance of surnames in Germany, Kunsrer wasn't listed. Perhaps it is Kunsler, which at least exists in Bavaria (similar names as in Austria). But it can be any other similar name.

I've got the same notion. 'Kunster' would be my first choice.

Even though I'm not German I thought the same too.
Could it be 'Kunserer' or 'Kunstler'?

Or just a craftwork - "Künstler" (=artist)...

I reckon you're right.
"BMW 328 re-bodied by artist/craftsman" would make perfect sense.

What's this and who built it for whom?

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

This one turns out to be a repost so I'm merging it with the original.
I do however have a little more info to add for clarification.

Apparently a Countess Joanna Palffy commissioned her Viennese engineer friend Franz Kunstler to dismantle her BMW 328 and build this new coupe body instead around a framework which she herself had designed.  The chassis was updated with Veritas suspension and the engine was breathed on by Carlo Abarth to produce 100 bhp from its 1971cc.

So I was right in my reply #11 suggesting the name could in fact be Kunstler but wrong in my #13 accepting that it wasn't a name at all but the car was made by a Künstler (artisan)!

The heading should therefore now be changed from Kunsrer to Kunstler.  I can do that but perhaps Joao should?

Oh, and incidentally that's Countess Palffy standing next to the car; you can't see her in my picture but you can in the same picture posted earlier in the thread.

Fascinating! Pre-dates Scaglione's B.A.T. Alfas 1-2 years. ;)
