This pic is part of a larger ad for a car.
For one point, what is the BRAND of the car that is actually being advertised?

No Interest from Rookies, so Experts have at it if you care to.

It reminds me of that book of Volkswagen cartoons that must be from about 1960.  I have three copies, but they are somewhere in the garage.  Is that the source?

It's probably no help, but I bet I've seen that artist's work before. I'm thinking it's Chon Day, or perhaps Ted Key.

Is the car being advertised supposed to be the same as the one in the picture?

The car being advertised is NOT the same one as the car in the picture!
That little car is being used to sell ANOTHER BRAND of vehicle.

RAMBLER it is!  We have a winner, and you have another point  :applause:

Well, I guessed the artist, anyway. No points for that, I realize...

What year was this from?

The ad's from '58...I collect (like many of us probably) old ads, so the art looked familiar...cool puzzle!

microcars

yes, this is from a 1958 LIFE magazine.
There were a few variations on this in several different ads, but each had the same theme of a buyer looking to strike a balance between a large expensive American automobile and a small European one.
One of the ads had a famous baseball pitcher buy his wife an Isetta, (according to the drawing...) but his wife would have nothing to do with it.
The pitcher is shown holding the Isetta under his arm.
