Is that a massive hood ornament, or is it just happy to star at AutoPuzzles.com?

It is French; it is not a Panhard.

Not a prototype. I believe this is a coachbuilt example of a (limited) production automobile.

Correction - this one came this way from the factory.

Wheels and hood ornament seem to match with a late thirties Voisin C30, but I couldn't find this body shape...

Bingo!

The third example of the C30 featured this body type. I don't know how many subsequent expamples were produced (of approximately 60 C30's overall).

Very nice, Otto! Never seen this before, I only knew the C30 with a prominent vertical grille... But the styling is quite typical for Voisin. What a pity they didn't survive  :(

Otto, is this all information You have? As far as I understand the bodywork is not specially coachbuilt, but there's almost no info about the car with this coachwork :( Was the car with this bodywork also built in only single example  ???

Otto Puzzell

I don't know if this is the only example. My source ( a restorer of these cars) tells me the B&W picture I posted was the 3rd C30 built. No mention of if there were more, but is seems likely, as the puzzle car (unless painted a different color when restored) seems to be a much lighter shade. As far as I know, this body style was penned and built in-house.

Thank You for the details, I've just found the 2nd picture of this restored car and it's name: 1939 Voisin C30 60032 3.5l

It's not a factory body, but by a Swiss coachbuilder (Strinati rings a bell, but I may be wrong).
