What's this, from when - for 1 point?

Google Image Search continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Image Search as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

Arunas

An obscure car which still exists in a very good shape!

Technically, not a repost ;)

hum... another name in your posts:
Trud, built by Oleg Kucherenko (Олег Кучеренко) and powered by IMZ M-61 motorcycle engine.

Carnut

Are you saying that Arunas gave the game away, Julien 1A?
You didn't know the car without that clue?

I was skimming through the solved "cases" this afternoon (German time) and saw the picture. So when I saw the car again this evening...

I am always curious about eastern European cars!

OK - good detective work!
I haven't been able to get my computer to open the second link you posted (probably either because there are too many pictures or - more likely - because some of them are so ugly my computer flatly refuses to show them!) so I can't tell if this puzzle should be merged..

I'll move it to solved for the time being until I find out otherwise.

Well done.

The thread's name should be corrected, as there are several mistakes - the car is called Trud and the creator's name is O. Kucherenko :)
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

OK, thanks.
It's probably down to the vagaries of translating Cyrillic script into Roman - perhaps whatever the Russian character was can be either 'u' or 'y'?
The publication I picked the photo from called it a Tryd by A. Kyryenko but it's not without its regular errors!

It's one of the common mistakes when transliterating from cyrillic, due to the fact that latin 'u' looks in cyrillic like 'y'. The same is with cyrillic 'p', which is latin 'r', cyrillic 'B' which is latin 'V' or 'W', cyrillic 'c' which is latin 's' and cyrillic 'H' which is latin 'N' :)
