Actually a '61 Merc might make more sence, though I never claimed to have any - sence that is. Or Mercurys for that matter.
Alltough when you've had 60 or 70 cars, you tend to forget!
And please don't make me dig through all my Classic Automobile magazines either.  ;D

Ok, I got it. The last DeSoto was in '61, this was an idea for a '62 DeSoto.

I think they tried to rip off '61 Cadillacs on this one, with the skegs down at the bottom of the quarters...

If you could see the rear view that I' ooking at of this car, to me at least, the skegs look similar to the '58 Lincoln which was allready in production at the time of this stylig buck.
And second,(in my opinion) Exner would never have let this heartless rendition of an automobile out the door.
By '59 and '60, Exner had a whole new chassis in mind for the whole line-up. These car were much more Exner-like, odd, yet oddly stylish some might say.
That whole chassis was scrapped when that whole debacle hit for the '62 models and blew everything to hale!
(Though I'm a huge fan of the out-come and own a '62 Polara B body and a '62 Belvedere B body.)
Hurts so good!  ;D
