This is the "Bustle Bomb" dragster...It was the first car engined dragster to top 150 MPH in the quarter-mile. It won the 1955 Nationals and World Series drags, and had a Cadillac engine in front with an Olds in the back. It was driven by Lloyd Scott.
Nicely done!
The Bustle Bomb was the first dragster to break 150 mph in the quarter mile in 1955. It was driven by Lloyd Scott. My father, Noel Timney, built the drive train (one ring gear and two pinions drive the one differential). The car first ran at the Santa Ana dragstrip (an old airfield). The car is now at Don Garlit's Drag Racing Museum in Ocala, Florida.
